Our Story
This video showcases how we met, our first dates, and our engagement.
We filmed these stories individually and then mashed them together. We hope you enjoy! See below for some pictures from the proposal!
Map Game: Engagement Story
If you are interested in playing, here’s how it works:
Things you need: minimum 2 people, road atlas of state, strips of paper
Pick pages within distance you are willing to travel for a dinner/day out
Person 1 puts those page numbers into a bowl on strips of paper, Person 2 picks one piece of paper but does not look and hands it to Person 1
From the selected page, Person 1 then breaks down grids into two bowls (vertical - a,b,c / horizontal - 1,2,3). Person 2 picks one strip of paper from vertical bowl and one from horizontal and hands it back to Person 1 without looking.
You now have your grid square location. Person 1 will then navigate Person 2 - the driver, using only the atlas, to the exact center of the grid square as close as you can get - even if it’s in the middle of nowhere (Person 2 will not know where they are going)
Once there, take a picture of where the center is and from there start driving or looking for the first mom-and-pop restaurant or fun thing to do (no chain restaurants) - no matter how much you may not want to go to the first one you find - the rules of the game are you must go in.
The adventure and the stories come from the unexpected. We have found some absolutely incredible unassuming hidden gems through this game. Life doesn’t have to be a perfect plan - have fun with the unknown!
